Residential Guidelines for Yard Debris

Your leaves & limbs are now collected by the City of Oxford the same day as your trash. Please have your leaves and debris out for pick up the day before to assure timely removal.  Leaves may be left loose (un-bagged) at the curb, during leaf season. Grass clippings, debris, and leaves must be separated for removal and grass clippings are collected only on Mondays.  Please remember if items are not separated they will not be picked up.

Loose leaf season begins mid-October and runs through the end of December.

From January 1st through mid-October, please place leaves & limbs:

  • On tarps
  • In bio-degradable bags if possible
  • In clear plastic bags (if placed in dark bags they will be confused with household trash)

Below is a list of items the City is not responsible for picking up:

  • Car Tires
  • Batteries
  • Construction Debris
  • Flammable liquids
  • Carpet
  • Cabinets
  • Fences
  • Sporting goods
  • Electronics ie. TVs, Stereos, Computers, etc...
  • Plumbing, ie. Toilets, Sinks, etc.…

The City will pick up furniture and mattresses if brought to the curb.
