2019 Police Officer of the Year.

Clarence was inspired to become a police officer as a youngster while growing up in the projects. In his neighborhood, there was a particular Police Officer that would always come around and joke, with the kids, making them laugh. Clarence was amazed at how the Officer interacted with the kids. This Officer would often play basketball with the kids and this display of friendliness had a positive effect on Clarence. The interaction led Clarence to pursue Law Enforcement. However, the greatest inspiration came from Clarence's father, who instilled in him the importance of treating everyone fairly.

Clarence is a graduate of Jordan High School, Columbus, GA., Class of 1995. After graduating, he joined the U.S. Navy and was assigned to the Samuel B. Roberts in Norfolk, VA. During his tour, he traveled to many countries throughout the world, including: England, Italy, Spain and many others.

After serving three years in the Navy, he was honorably discharged in 1998. Clarence then moved to North Carolina and began his career in Law Enforcement. His first position was with the Nash County Sheriff's Office as a patrol deputy. Later, Clarence decided to become a police officer, which ultimately led him to the Oxford Police Department.

Clarence Andre Threatt has been serving with the Oxford Police Department for approximately five years and is currently assigned to the Patrol Division.

In 2017, he was promoted to Patrol Corporal and he has enjoyed this leadership role immensely. He is known and respected throughout the department for his positive attitude, tireless efforts and his ability to uplift and inspire others.

Clarence considers one of the greatest accomplishments in his life was being selected as Oxford Police Department's "2019 Officer of The Year". This achievement has shown him that with God, anything is possible and you must keep your faith. In his off time, he enjoys playing video games and traveling. He hopes one day to become a Community Outreach Director with a non-profit agency.
