Fit After 50 Fitness Program - The Fit After 50 (FA50) Workout Center is offered by Oxford Parks & Recreation and is located inside Hix Gymnasium at 313 Spring Street.  The facility is only available for individuals 50 years old or older.  Our regulations have been established to make it possible for you to use the facility and equipment in a comfortable, fun, and safe environment. Fees may apply. Contact the Recreation Department at 919-603-1135 for more details. Membership packets can be found below.

Walking - at Oxford Recreation Complex (Hix Gym). The gym is open from 5:30 am to 1:00 pm for Senior Adults, Monday through Friday.  From 1:00 pm to 5:00 pm the gym remains open for walking for the general public  (Exceptions on days that require maintenance or when special events are in progress).  This facility provides shelter from the elements and a safe environment.  Cushioned flooring minimizes stress to hips, knees, and feet, which is commonly a problem linked with walking on hard surfaces such as asphalt and concrete.  Challenge yourself and join the 500 Mile Club! **During Summer Camp hours pickleball is held on Fridays from 9:00 am - 12:00 pm.

Kerr-Tar Senior Games, which is run by the Kerr-Tar Regional Council of Governments, hosts a year-round health promotion program for persons age 55 and better. Each Spring the Senior Games hosts local athletic and SilverArts competitions. Residents of Granville, Franklin, Person, Vance, and Warren counties are eligible and encouraged to compete.

For structured activities, crafts, exercise, and outings contact the Granville County Senior Center at 919-693-1930.
