Sealed bids for the project entitled 2017 Water Line Replacements will be received by the City of Oxford until 2:00 p.m. local time February 22, 2018 in the First Floor Employee Training Room of City Hall located at 300 Williamsboro Street, Oxford, North Carolina. At said place and time, all Bids that have been duly received, will be publicly opened and read aloud.
THE PROJECT GENERALLY CONSISTS OF construction of approximately 1,710 linear feet of 2-inch water main, 50 linear feet of 4-inch water main, 31,090 linear feet of 6-inch water main, 6,690 linear feet of 8-inch water main and 50 linear feet of 12-inch water main with valves, hydrants, related appurtenances, and surface restoration.
A pre-bid conference will be held at 2:00 pm local time January 30, 2018 in in the First Floor Employee Training Room of City Hall (same location as Bid Opening). Interested parties are invited to attend this meeting to review the plans, ask for additional information or clarification, and visit the project site.
The City of Oxford is currently accepting applications for the Recreation Advisory Committee.
The City of Oxford Recreation Advisory Committee serves as the official citizen advisory board to the City Council on issues related to parks, programming, fees and recreation policy matters. The Committee serves as a liaison between the City and the citizens of the community and works to promote parks and recreation programs.

The City of Oxford on behalf of the National Mary Potter Club, Inc (MPC) is seeking proposals from qualified firms to assist with the preparation of design documents for the rehabilitation of the Mary Potter School Shop Building, a contributing building to the Oxford National Register Historic District.
The contract for the work should be executed no later than January 19, 2018. Scope of Work and a time-product-payment schedule for the project will be included in the contract. The consultant will submit preliminary drafts of all products to the City, the MPC, and the HPO by May 18, 2018, and final drafts to the City and the HPC and HPO by June 29, 2018.

The City of Oxford would like to feature local scenes on the front of its annual greeting card. We invite photographers of all ages, backgrounds, and experience levels to enter their best photos for a chance to be featured on the front of the City of Oxford’s 2018 or 2019 card, with authorship specified on the back of the card.
To be eligible the photo must be taken within the City Limits and must be scenes that are appropriate for winter or the Holiday Season from Thanksgiving through New Year’s.
Entries may be submitted in person to the City Clerk, at City Hall (300 Williamsboro Street), or by emailing the picture and a brief description of the picture to firstname.lastname@example.org.
