HUMAN RESOURCES
As with most
organizations the Human Resources Department function is more than just
screening employees for hiring. The department focuses on benefits
administration, workers comp administration, leadership training, legal
compliance and also serves on the City's Employee Health & Activity Committee.
Our benefit
program as a percent of salary is near 50%. The labor turnover is under 8% and
the absenteeism is under 1.5%. Most employees find us the employer of choice for
them and our longevity rate is very high. The City only accepts resumes
for open positions through the Employment
Security Commission of North Carolina.
Don L. Jenkins is the Human Resources Leader for the City. He has been with the
City over 6 years and brings over 40 years of experience in leadership of
organizations. With an undergraduate degree from High Point University and
graduate work at Duke University, Don is certified by Franklin Covey to
facilitate "The Seven Habits of Highly Effective People," which the City is
franchised to teach.
Our Human
Resources Department is located at City Hall, 300 Williamsboro Street.
Office hours are Monday through Friday, 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM. For more
information call (919) 603-1115 or send an email to
