DISCOVER Our Quality of Life.........

Historic, Walkable and Friendly are on our logo because that is what we are.  We are here to serve our community and to ensure the health, safety, and welfare of the residents and visitors of Oxford. We like to think of our community as a cohesion of government, businesses and citizens working together to provide the best place to live, work and play in our area. It takes all of our departments working collectively to provide the best service we can to our citizens.
We have a wide range of sport and non-sport activities through our Parks and Recreation Department at our six great parks, including a city lake and multiple recreational facilities.  The City's cultural amenities include the Granville Little Theatre, that performs in a 250 seat auditorium at City Hall, the George C. Shaw Museum, and the Granville County Historical Society Museums. Our City events and downtown activities attract visitors from all over the state.  Our Hot Sauce Contest and other downtown activities attract visitors from all over the state.
For those who prefer a slower pace of life in a small City that is close to the amenities of larger metropolitan areas, Oxford is the answer.

In this section, you will find a brief history of Oxford as well as City provided services, and information specifically about our downtown and activities.

If you are considering Oxford as a place to start, relocate or grow your business or corporation, you will find comprehensive and helpful economic data and information in our Economic Development Section.

Our Comprehensive Plans and Projects page gives you an opportunity to review the City’s long-range plans for revitalization, growth and development, as well as major projects that are currently in progress.
