BUILDINGS & GROUNDS
The Buildings & Grounds Department is
managed by Superintendent Kenny Manning, who brings with him a BS in Landscape
Horticulture from North Carolina State University. Approaching 7 years of
service with the City, Kenny oversees a 3 man crew who provide an array of
landscaping maintenance at over 25 City locations, as well as maintenance and
repairs of City buildings. Examples are medians; planting flowers in the
downtown area; Men's Garden Club Park; Hugh Currin Memorial Park; City Hall; and
the Police Department. The department is responsible for decorating the
downtown trees for the Christmas Holiday. The Buildings & Grounds
Department also encompasses the daily cleaning and operation of City Hall by
Troy Jones.
The Buildings & Grounds Department is
located at City Hall, 300 Williamsboro Street. Office hours are Monday
through Friday, 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM. For additional information on Buildings
